Addysen's first day of 1st Grade!

Addysen's first day of first grade was on August 19, 2013.  Her teacher is Mrs. Bledsoe and her bus driver is Vickie.  This was the first year that Rowva started at 8am, which meant a earlier bus time for Addysen:(  Addysen was expected to be ready to get on the bus at 6:45am on the first day of school.  We got up and ready and were out the door 10 minutes early to get some pictures.  As we walked out, we heard the bus coming down the road, which meant I didn't get the 1st day pictures I wanted, but I did get 2 pictures.  The other bad news was that the bus just kept coming earlier each day, and she now gets on the bus at 6:30am and gets off at 4:15pm This means that even though the school is getting out a 1/2 hour earlier, she is spending more time away than she did last year.  Last year she got on the bus at 7:20am and got off at 4:10pm.  This is a big change and a little excessive in my opinion. The good news is is that Addysen likes school and is doing great.

There goes my first grader! :)

State Fair 2013!!

This was Addysen's second year showing at the Illinois State Fair and it was just as fun and exciting for her as it was last year.  In the 3 days that we were there, we made sure to squeeze in showing, riding rides, watching lots of other shows and eating a lot of stuff we shouldn't have ate:)  It was a short little trip where our girls were awesome and lots of fun to be with (minus the 10,000,000 times Ainsley had to go to the bathroom)!
Uncle Nate was first out in the show ring...
and he had the cutest cheering section!!
Then Addysen got her chance in the ring with Flower.
She did a great job showing her all by herself and setting her up.
So proud of her.
That is one tough little girl to get that calf to do what she wants it to:)
I think Daddy was pretty proud as well!
she knows just what to do.
Me and one of my good college friends, Denise.  We did not plan to meet here, I just happen to run into her and her daughter in the bathroom(what a small world)! It was great running into her and her family, as I have not seen her in years! Such a nice, sweet, awesome person who helped to make my college life fun!

At the end of each day, we walked the cows out to tie-outs.  This is all the kids favorite part of the day!
Anna walking BIG Melody
Our tired Addysen walking her Flower.
We made it to tie-outs... time for a drink!
2 cute cattle helpers
Couldn't be any happier to be here at the state fair hanging out with the cows!
Poor Sweet Baby Lola wasn't feeling well... but I don't think she could be any cuter!?
Papa and Grandma Sharon
Aaron and his dad

On day 2 we hung out a lot in the barns, the girls went to several shows with Grandma Sharon and they got pretty dirty playing tractors in the dirt!  It was a great day!

Anna, Ainsley and Aunt Mary walking to tie-outs.

In this picture, Addysen was yelling at me that this is not a good time to be taking pictures!  They were working and trying to get the cows to tie-outs around all these trucks!!!  ;)
Nate and Mary's nephew, Braden, likes cows and got to help walk to tie-outs too!
On day 3 we went to watch Uncle Nate show again and Ty Ty. Then we went to the mid-way to ride some rides!!!

Tyler showing the bull in the show ring.
This was the first ride Ainsley went on and she LOVED it!  I wish I could have gotten a better picture of her face.  She was so excited and partly scared, it was so cute!
Waiting to go on the trampoline!
They both LOVED this!  Ainsley wasn't heavy enough for it, so the carny had to keep pulling on her rope to get her to go up and down.  She had so much fun!

Knox County Fair

Addysen showed her calf, Flower, at the Knox County Fair during the first weekend of August.  She did a great job in the ring, all by herself, and handling Flower.  She surprised me by how much she improved from last year and by how much her confidence grew.  Aaron and I couldn't have been more proud of her! We've got a real cowgirl in the making!!

Heading over to the show ring.
Addysen and Flower heading into the show ring, as Daddy stays behind to watch:)
Addysen and Flower - Thanks Jiliane Johnson for this picture!
The judge talking to Addysen and asking her about her calf.
Setting her up, trying to her her feet, just right.
Uncle Nate was also showing at the same time as Addysen.
She did it!!!!
She placed first in her class!  And one of her best buddies, Ava (who is also the Little Miss Knox County) handed her her blue ribbon!!

This was when Addysen got to go back in the show ring for the second time.
And the second time, Flower won Reserve Champion Simmental.
Then Addysen, Uncle Nate and Anna showed a pair of females and they won another blue ribbon! -- Addysen had a GREAT DAY!

Addysen, Ava and Lauren
Just hanging out, playing horses, ponies and princess at the barns!
Since Ava was busy a lot of the day with her duties as Little Miss, her sister Lauren got to hang out with us!  We had a blast with her. She is a great, sweet fun girl!
