Lindsay's Baby Shower

The second weekend of June, we had Lindsay's baby shower. Corey and I (mostly corey) hosted it for her at the Wataga Fire Station. It was a nice shower and Lindsay received a lot of nice things for her little bun the in oven. Once the shower ended, Lindsay informed me that she would like to change my name from 'kickin' Katie to 'kraftin' Katie. Yes, I am a crafter now. Well, not really, but we did have a lot of arts and craft time at my house before the shower.

I can't believe I did this, but I did, and it turned out really cute! I made a diaper cake. I can't take full credit, I will give part of the glory to Pam (a friend from my OSF days). Pam made one for my baby shower, so I stole her idea/creativity. I'm pretty proud of my craftiness - as I don't think I have a crafty bone in my body. Unlike my mother and her brilliance in making Halloween costumes. (he he he) That's a whole other story.

Craft project #2.
Tammy started this evil tradition of making the guest of honor look like a fool at their own party. She made ridiculous hats/outfits for mine and Emily's bachelorette parties and baby showers. Since I'm the youngest, I had to pass on this "FUN" onto someone else - so Lindsay has been my culprit - Sorry Lindz. So I made her a lovely hat to wear at the shower that said BABY MOMMA. If Jared is lucky, I'll make him one too with BABY DADDY on it. (and I'll make them wear them at the birth of their child)

Awwwe!

The cutest girls at the shower!

Morgy and Ca-ba's B-day Party

Also the second weekend of June, we went to Morgan and Caleb's Birthday Party. We had fun and of course Addysen was on cloud nine to be with Morgan and Ca-ba.
(Morgan is going to be 8 and Caleb is going to be 4)

Addysen was the official keeper of the presents. You had to go through her if you wanted one! She is one tough cookie! Look at her, she means business!
(ha ha ha, I love it when she fold her arms like this)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MORGAN AND CALEB!
WE LOVE YOU!

Whoops! I spilled...

Ah, I'll save it for later.

New rule -
Official keeper of the presents, gets to try out each one!

FRIENDS!

Lisa came home the second week of June. It was really good to see her, it has been too long! One night she was home we got a chance to cookout and catch up at Lindsay and Jared's house. We had fun and enjoyed seeing her! Addysen eventually warmed up and sang and danced a little with Lisa.
(and of course showed off her weirdness!)

John Deere Pavilion

A couple of weeks ago, we had a Sunday with nothing planned, so we decided to take Addysen on her first visit to the John Deere Pavilion. As you can imagine, she loved it and had a great time. She even got a couple of souvenirs. She got a John Deere hat and t-shirt. They are her farmin' shirt and hat. Now she has to wear her farmin' hat when she goes out to feed Bub (the calf) a bottle. She puts it on and will say, "I farmer girl"
(she's too cute, I think we're going to keep her!)
Testing out a new lawnmower.

Can you find Addy?

Addy's pretending to milk a cow with Daddy.

That's a BIG Tractor!
Of course she had to sit in everyone, but so did Daddy.

Cousin Jason and Erin's Wedding

The first weekend in June we went to Jason (aaron's cousin) and Erin's wedding in Peoria. It was a beautiful wedding and we all just had a great time! Especially Addysen. She was so excited that we were going to a party. She enjoyed mingling with family and strangers and she danced the night away!

Here she is hangin' with soon to be "Aunt" Mary.

Here she is in deep conversation with Papa, Great Aunt Mary Anne and Great Uncle Jerry.

Cassie (aaron's cousin) and Addysen

DANCING!!
(or running in circles, same thing!)
Here she is doing her trademark dance - "The Gallop"
(and obviously having a great time)
Dancing with soon to be "Aunt" Kellie and Uncle Ryan

I think I caught her mid move here, but I thought it was funny! It looks like she is doing "the lawn mower" dance!

Pulling Uncle Nate to the dance floor.

Taking a juice break.
(sitting on the steps right in front of the DJ)
Eventually, she was laying down on the steps! Then she'd get up and dance and then go back and lay down again. It was like she was SOOOO tired, but she HAD to keep dancing as long as she could.

This was at the end of the night, she was pouting because I told her we were going to leave.

DRAMA QUEEN!

We'll miss you!

Addysen's last day at Stephanie's house :( Addysen has spend the past two years in daycare with Stephanie. She always felt like she was at home there. She had tons of fun each day and learned a lot! Plus she gained her first best bud, Ava! We're going to miss going to Stephanie, Ava and all the other kids, but we'll see each other from time to time.
Change is hard, but we'll all adjust soon enough.

Aaron + Katie = WEIRD!

What do you get when you cross a farm boy & a not so country girl?
A princess that likes farming!

One night the end of May, Uncle Nate offered to come over so Addysen could feed Bub a bottle. We were outside at the time and it was starting to get dark and a little chilly. So I told Addysen that Uncle Nate was coming over and that they were going to feed Bub. She was so excited! I asked her if she wanted to go in before he got there so she could put on a coat. She said, "No, I wear my ??????" I had no idea what she had said, so I asked her to come in and show me what she wanted. We went in and she took me to her room and in her closet and pointed to her princess dress.
I think Uncle Nate was little surprised to be feeding a calf with a girl in a dress!
Rocko, Uncle Nate and Princess Addy on their way out in the pasture, to feed Bub.
Feeding Bub.
The princess's hands, must have gotten tired.

All the other cows coming to check out this weird girl -- I mean princess!

May Highlights

The weather has finally gotten warm enough to get Addysen's new water table out. She loves this thing! She doesn't like getting her clothes wet though...
So she had to put on her swim suit. She said, "Off, clothes wet!" Then she said, "Too hot" (which means, the sun was too bright) So she had to put on her sunglasses!

After going inside to get something, I come back out and Addysen's swim bottoms are right by the door on the patio and the girl is naked from the waist down sitting in a bucket of water. I asked her what she was doing and she said, "clothes wet, off."
I missed that picture, and got this one.
So then, she wanted to take her swim top off because it was wet too. So I took it off of her and said lets go in and get dressed. I turned around and now she was in the bucket again, completely naked! I think we need to discuss the purpose of a swimsuit!

Checking out the new hog buildings at the farm!

Addy and Daddy in the new hog buildings!

Addysen and Meggan
At the end of May we went to Meggan's bridal shower. Addy is going to be one of the flower girls in Meggan and Brad's wedding. She is excited to dress up and go to a party!

At the shower, we got to meet Sarah's new little fella, baby Nolan! He is a very handsome boy!

Addy and Daddy in front of the planter on the last day of planting for this year! We made it through another planting season!
