A couple of weeks ago, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I took the 1 hour blood glucose and my sugar levels were borderline. So I went to St. Mary's a couple of days later and had the 4 hour blood glucose test and my levels were a little higher than they like, so they diagnosed me with gestational diabetes. I am now seeing my regular OB doctor and I am also seeing a specialist in the Maternal Fetal Diagnostic Center. The first time I went, Aaron and I received A LOT of information. They first explained to us that I have done nothing to cause this to happened. Two big factors that cause this are family history and age. I wouldn't consider myself old, but I am older than last time. Plus diabetes is in our family, so I guess that makes me a candidate for this. The first thing that they try to do to control this is alter my diet - so my "I can eat whatever I want because I'm pregnant" card just expired:( I now have completely changed my diet and am checking my sugar levels 4 times a day. Yesterday, I went to the specialist again. This time I got to meet with the sonographer and the doctor. They looked closely at the baby and measured EVERYTHING! So far she looks good and healthy. She weighs 2 1/2 pounds now - which is right where she should be. Her heart, kidney's and lungs all look really good and so does the fluid around her... Me on the other hand, had some high sugar readings. They gave me a few suggestions and we are going to try another week on this new diet with some modifications - to see if the levels go down. If they do, great, I'll keep doing what I'm doing, but if they are high, they will have start me on insulin:( I am going to try really hard to stay away from that. Unfortunately, I don't have all the control. As the pregnancy continues, I will produce more and more hormones which can cause my sugar levels to rise. So all I can do at this point is to try to eat healthy for me and the baby. I will be trying my best and praying for good health for both me and baby.
Oh yeah, because of this complication and stress she has put on us - Aaron and I have already decided that once she comes out - she is grounded!

Mary's Baby Shower
On Saturday, May 8th, Kelli, Lindsay and I threw Mary a baby shower! We had a really good time planning the party and I think everyone had a good time! Mary got a lot of nice gifts and now we are just waiting for that baby to arrive!
(i am not thinking the best these days - as i think my baby is sucking out all of my brain cells that Addysen left me - so unfortunately, i did not get many pictures)
I kept our tradition alive and decided to make Mary a fancy hat to celebrate this occasion!
(i think she liked it! - he he)

The yummy cake!
Kelli, Lindsay and I decided to make Mary some diaper cakes. They were fun to do, create and decorate! We all used different themes and different kinds of diapers - so they can decide which they like best for their new little bundle of joy!

Hanging at home
In May, I started my new summer work hours - I now work Monday - Friday 8:00-12:00. So Addysen and I get to spend a lot more time together before baby number 2 arrives. I love it and so does Addysen.
on one of the first days we came home early, Addysen decided she wanted to spend some time with her cows. I bet she probably stayed out there for 20-30 minutes, just hanging out and talking to her cows! She's such a farm girl!
Hopefully one day the sun will come out again!
Playing in her new water/sand table! Hours of fun!
